B7 Aluminum Core Support

Base Unit

An aluminum core support to replace the OEM fiber-plastic unit. This offers more rigidity for mounting auxiliary or aftermarket components, offers more room for service work under the hood, and drastically improves the appearance of your build that you spent your life savings on.

B6 Core support base unit is made from 5052 and 6061 aluminum and TIG welded with zinc coated steel rivet nuts for M6x1 threaded connections.

Hood Latch Bracket

B6 / B7 hood latch bracket is made from 304ss and TIG welded, fits OEM hood latch mechanism. This bracket is optional for those who decide to use hood pins.

Snub Mount Bracket

B6 / B7 4.2 Snub mount bracket is made from 304ss and TIG welded, fits 8E0199335L and aftermarket buckets.

B6 / B7 2.7t swap snub mount bracket is made from 304ss and TIG welded, fits 8E0199343 engine stub and 8E0199335L bucket, and aftermarket buckets.

B6 / B7 1.8t / 2.0t Snub mount bracket is made from 304ss and TIG welded, fits OEM and aftermarket 1.8t / 2.0t snub mount buckets.

B6 / B7 Lower Cross Bar is made from 304ss and TIG welded. It replaces the snub mount bracket with a bare tube to reinforce the core support if desired and offer additional opportunities for mounting other components.

Fan Shroud

The OEM fan shroud on the S4/RS4 is built into the OEM core support, on the A4 it is a fan/shroud sub assembly that bolts to the OEM core support. There are three options for a fan shroud on the aluminum core support;

1. No shroud - Radiator fans are attached to the radiator via pull through style zip ties or comparable. Whatever size aftermarket fan that fits the radiator's core can be used. Wiring of the fans will be custom, B6/7 aux fan jumper harness can be used with the S4 fan control module.
2. Radiator mounted fan shroud - A shroud that attaches to the radiator core's flanges via bolts or spring clamps. Uses one aftermarket 12" fan and one aftermarket 10" fan. Wiring of the fans will be custom, B6/7 aux fan jumper harness can be used with the S4 fan control module.
3. Core support Mounted Fan Shroud - A shroud that colts to the core support. Uses the OEM S4 main fan and an aftermarket 10" aux fan (recommended SPAL p/n VA11-AP8/C-29A). Wiring is plug and play with the S4 fan control module while using the B6/7 aux fan jumper harness, wiring for the aux fan can also be obtained from the OEM aux fan.
   
   *Wiring with the A4 fan control module will be custom, it is recommended to use high-quality crimps and heat shrink.
